FOREWORD
In an ever-changing and evolving world, possessing
the right attitude and experience; and the ability to think critically and
solve complex problems is a cornerstone of continuous success. Cultivating
these skills not only empowers individuals to navigate challenges and
overcome crisis and problems effectively but also enhances their capacity for
innovation and informed decision-making. This program delves into the art of
nurturing critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, providing
insights, strategies, and realistic applications to sharpen intellectual
prowess. The best way is by developing a strong adversity quotient (AQ) on
top of the intellectual quotient (IQ) as the latter on a stand alone will not
do well.
Problem-solving
skills are the ability to identify and analyze problems, brainstorm
solutions, and implement the best ones. They are a sought-after soft
skill by employers, as they demonstrate the ability to handle unexpected
challenges and complex issues that may arise from time to time.
Problem exists whenever objectives are not being
met. It is all about what is happening vs. what is wanted to happen. Problem
Solving is the process of taking corrective action to meet objectives. Decision
Making is the process of selecting an alternative course of action that will
solve a problem. The first decision is whether to take corrective action or
measures.
